About Dee...

Dee was born in Mangum Oklahoma on November 4th, 1932 to Lena and Arthur Parker.  She had three older brothers, Orville, Lester and Weldon, one younger sister Mary, and two younger brothers Carlton and Kenneth.

When Dee was 5 years old her family had to leave their farm home in Oklahoma due to the dust bowl conditions.  They packed the whole family up and traveled across the country to California.  For many years they traveled up and down the Central valley picking crops in order to survive.

Once the Second World War started her father was able to get a steady job as a Machinist and the family moved into a regular house.  Dee was able to attend a regular school.  She graduated from Healdsburg High School in 1950.

Dee attended BIOLA College in Los Angeles from 1950 to 1954, where she met Wayne DuBois.  In 1955 Wayne and Dee were married.  In 1957 her son David DuBois was born.  In 1959 her daughter Sheri DuBois was born.

From 1957 to 1977 Dee was a stay at home Mom, Girl Scout Leader, PTA newsletter editor, Band Parent and chauffer for the kids when they needed rides to their various after school events.

Dee was also a Foster parent for newborn babies, and worked as a preschool teacher for a few years.

In 1977 Dee started working at The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo.  There she met Earl Nealy and they were married in 1989.

Over the course of her life she enjoyed jogging, hiking and backpacking.  She also enjoyed painting, making ceramics (often at Color Me Mine), and Gardening.
